At UDJC, we don’t just run jumping classes, we help riders develop in the right direction. That means focusing on balance, rhythm, track, and control before ever worrying about the clock. All jumping classes up to 95cm are judged on style, not speed. Riders receive a score based on the quality of their riding — seat, effectiveness of aids, planning, and overall harmony with the horse. It’s not about who goes fastest, it’s about who rides best.
In every judged class, riders receive not only a score but precise feedback from the judge explaining how the score was built — offering real insight into what went well, what needs work, and how to improve for the next round.
Style classes at 40cm, 50cm, and 65cm are held in a group format and begin with a short flatwork section. The judge will evaluate the rider’s use of effective aids, balance, and control before the jumping phase begins, emphasizing correct riding from the ground up.
In Style Classes, riders are judged purely on the quality of their round. Focus areas include straightness, track, pace, and overall rider effectiveness. Courses are designed to encourage correct basics, and style points determine placing — no timers involved.

In ATC classes, the focus is on faults and time. Riders aim to complete the course with the fewest penalties in the fastest time. The rider with the lowest faults and quickest round wins. These classes start at 95cm.

A perfect blend of style and speed. Riders first complete a round judged for style. Scores of 7.5 or higher qualify for an immediate jump-off against the clock, making these classes a great transition from technical riding to timed competition.

A fun and strategic format. Riders earn points for each fence cleared — jump 1 is worth 1 point, jump 5 is worth 5, and so on. The final jump is a choice: a standard 10-point fence or the joker — a higher, more difficult jump worth 20 points, but with a twist: knocking it down subtracts 20 points. It’s all about riding and risk-taking.
